Long past time to send Puerto Rico to Congress

The people of Puerto Rico don't want to become a state. But then again, we know Democrats don't give a crap what people want.

I never said to grant statehood. I said to grant full representation in the House, along with all other territories.

They have a Resident Commissioner. And yes, she serves on committees, but that's really meaningless.
The democrats have been very active keeping Puerto Rico a backwards territory.

IIRC Puerto Ricans have voted at least twice to apply for statehood but the dems have shot them down.

If they become a State, the people get Rights....like the Right to own guns. Puerto Rico is corrupt as hell, but let the people be armed and that corruption gets corraled.

No, it's not. PR is a protectorate. NC is a state.

All territories in the United States are equally part of the United States as any state, and the people of those territories are Americans just as much as any American in any of the states.

Why not add four Dem senators to the Senate? Two from DC and two from Puerto Rico? It would make things a whole lot easier/convenient for us.

First, because I am not part of the "us" about which you speak. Second, I have no interest in partisan fuckery. I'm concerned with just governance and making our country, our entire country, stronger for it.

There are a whole list of things that Puerto Rico needs before the island would be a real contender for statehood.

Statehood doesn't actually require citizen approval at all. Congress alone has the power to admit new states, with the only limitation being the constitution's anti-partition clause. Congress has the power to admit PR as a state against the wishes of the people of Puerto Rico, and is under no obligation to grant independence to Puerto Rico even if they want it.
Good luck with that.

Of course it wouldn't work out for conholes. That's the whole idea .

Puerto Rico does have representation. You're wanting voting capability? You fricken clowns are so damn sleazy in your requests.

We deserve their independence. It's basically a welfare state without the benefit of offering any value to America. Time to set them free.

Every American living on American soil should be represented in Congress. Puerto Rico, along with American Samoa, US Virgin Islands, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, and Washington DC, should be fully represented in the House of Representatives, based on their relative populations. But no Senators. The Senate should remain the chamber of state representation.

Why not?
They should ALL be represented in the House, the Senate ( and be able to vote for their Representitives and Senators) and be able to vote for the President. We know why they aren't allowed to be represented. It's because they are not WHITE.

First, Congress needs to start representing the 50 states that do exist, otherwise, what is the point?

All 37 states admitted to the union this far held an election for or against statehood. That IS the way it's done.
I am starting to realize you are poorly educated.

The Constitution forbids the DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA from being a state. So, no Senators or Representatives without a Constitutional Amendment.
