I'd say both.
USA started out as a unique concept (ideal) for government which is still going through an experimental state based upon effects from other nations and changing technologies.

I’ll always remember, a boat trip l took around the whole of Manhattan. Our guide began the tour with saying that America was an ideal. That thought stayed with me on and off for years during my back and forth to the US.

It shows in the Roman and Greek influences on the architecture. The DC Metro stations are pure Roman

That is a good question. I found the article in a book I found at church. I should have looked up Evelyn Wagler's name on Google. first. When I did I learned that many blacks in Boston were shocked by the crime. Nevertheless, those guilty for it were never apprehended.

Not that it in any way excuses the crime, but this crime happened more than 50 years ago. Hopefully the perpetrators came to terrible, painful ends.
