Not what he was thinking. What he actually did. Discussing firing Mueller wouldn't be a problem. Ordering thee white house council to fire him would be obstruction of justice, even if the white house council refused to do it.

For one thing, no one has shown any evidence he tried to fire Mueller. Even if he had fired him, it isn't ILLEGAL. He can fire him if he wants to. Who told you otherwise?
