Most countries outside the United States have laws forbidding hate speech.
The USA has a tradition of free speech and has no such laws.;
Note: Supreme Court rulings have dealt with several special cases involving freedom of speech.
1.Pornography is NOT protected by the First Amendment. Jurisdictions at the state and local level may regulate it.
2. Schenck vs United States dealt with a man who was handing out leaflets encouraging men to evade the military draft in WWI. This was deemed by the court as a threat to US security and his conviction was upheld.
