In fact, there was no war of the colonies for independence. Colonial power against the metropolis is like bees against honey, colonial power is a branch of the metropolis.

It was actually the American People's War against the Colonists, and the colonists were pushed out of the US into Canadian territory and back in UK.

What the heck is this monstrosity?

The colonists objected to being taxed without representation. When King George ignored that, the colonists pushed back and the Revolutionary War began.

The people were the colonists.

Lies. It was the war of the American people against the colonists and further colonization. It flamed earlier, and before that there were already agreements to prohibit further colonization west of the mountains.

Before the Revolutionary War there were no American people. They were British subjects.

No, the British colonists occupied only a narrow strip of the coast

Those who remained loyal to England were expelled. Those who were loyal to the 13 colonies/states stayed.
At some point, all the colonists were expelled, some to the Canadian colonies, and some back to Europe. Apparently at some point they returned. Perhaps it was just the army of Washington. We need to clarify this.
