Liberals, how did the Venona Project's declassification change your views on McCarthy?

Basically the forerunner to the NSA took advantage of a fuck up a a USSR single use pad factory to decode Soviet communications traffic. The project was one of our most highly classified state secrets up until 1995. Its results disproved the liberal propaganda about the nonexistence of Soviet intelligence operations in the US but they couldn't really be used in court for obvious reasons. Since declassification they've vindicated a number of cases, such as that against the Cambridge Spy Ring and the Rosenbergs' espionage work.
