No, but neither were the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

Point is that socialism is an integral part of authoritarianism, including Nazi authoritarianism. The Nazis were not just socialists in name only. Hitler wrote in great detail about how the capitalists that he allowed to stay in business were needed for the war, but as soon as it was over, he would bring them under his heels.

I still don't understand your objection to banning something that you are so sure never happened and never will.

How do you know that no Florida teacher has been talking about sexual matters to third graders? I'll admit that I don't know that they have, can you admit that you don't know that they haven't?

But let's say for the sake of argument, that you happen to be right. Suppose that it has never happened that a third grade teacher talked to their students about the importance of respecting the preferred pronouns of a transgender person. It sure doesn't seem far-fetched that a teacher might do that, given the seemingly far-fetched things that have been happening.

Would you have predicted five years ago that a man would win events in women's college swimming and that self-identified feminists would call him a hero?

If the parents of Florida see teachers sexualizing their early-elementary kids as a real possibility, given the cultural and political climate we now have, are they filled with hate for wanting to pre-emptively ban it?
