1. Lose 10 pounds
2. Join a non-fiction book club
3. Volunteer with a civic group in my town, maybe rejoining the financial literacy one
4. Stop engaging with antisemites from Europe on this website

What are yours?

Since having the privilege to teach English as a Second Language in Quito, Ecuador in 2001 and 2002 I try my best to set up some of my former students with information that can be translated into side by side, English plus Spanish, in a way that will grab their attention.

I probably have put about a thousand hours per year into that type of volunteerism for these past couple of decades. This will help all of you to understand why I tend to be a little bit "confrontational" in the way that I write. Just as "a film devoid of conflict is boring" so also writings that do now generate some emotional response will not set in motion a positive shift in this world's educational system, religions and economy.

Now that I have found this forum I am resolved to be even more confrontational than usual!

I’m heading out now, but I’ve enjoyed your inout into the forum and do want to respond more later - as I too have become more confrontational. It’s necessary to fight off what is happening here, which is an attempt to “transform” America - just like Obama threatened.
