'Let's Not Shoot These Kids': Florida Police Caught In Shootout With 12yo Boy, 14yo Girl

This is just sad. In America in 2021 we now have children shooting at police with the police hoping that they don't have to shoot back.

I understand this. I wouldn't want to shoot a child.

This is America. Weapons everywhere.

Yet we are much less safe.

The problem is 12 and 14 y-olds being assholes asshole.
The problem is, these children no longer live in the same world you do. They have an entirely different reality. They should not live with others in a normal situation. It's dangerous. They need expert supervision that can challenge their concepts. They need to be forced into reality.

Bring back the orphanage and stop with the fake family atmosphere.

12 year old boy, and 14 year old girl eh ? Well how do you suppose that two young kids of this age, understood how to use weaponry like this, and also how they learned to traverse from room to room using different angles to shoot at the cops from ????

I'll tell you how - It's from playing these violent video games or maybe watching others play them on the YouTube videos for hours and hours at a time.

I'm actually witness to this type of thing, because my grand-boys and grand-daughter have done it (Played these games). I didn't like what I was seeing, even though the rating was child appropriate.

We are trying to ween them off of the games after studying the affects on kids personalities. Everyone wants their kid's and/or grand kids to be happy, but giving them to much of a rope watching those video games or playing them to unhealthy levels is a very bad thing.

They don't seem affected yet, and we don't want them to be.

Got to many people using technology in the place of quality time being spent with their kids.

Something has got to change, and normalcy return to our families and communities. What's happening now, otherwise that is producing these types of result's ought to be all the evidence needed in order to follow the trail back to the gaming world, and how that world might need stricter regulations and ratings. Maybe even fines issued if kids are caught trying to access these mature rated games that are rated adult, and are for people over the age of 18 only to be admitted.

Reputation seems to be the big part of these games, and violence the other. Both have brainwashing abilities, and negative affects on the mind if one is emersed in them for times exceeding unhealthy levels.

Debriefing these children should reveal alot of thing's if done properly, and hopefully the information won't be hidden due to the interest of the gaming lobby, and/or due to unethical politic's.

Me thinks I smell a fishy story!
  • Two children break out of juvenille hall to break into a home that just happens to have guns laying out all over the place loaded and ready to go? When are the police filing charges against the home-owner for not securing his weapons?
  • 14 year old girl comes our flashing a shotgun? I want to see a 14 y.o. girl SHOOT a 12 ga. 00 shotgun!
You spent a year calling the police criminals, defunding them, denouncing them, criminalizing them, rioting against them, and now that some kids act on that feedback they've gotten from the radical left and shoot at them---- YOU BLAME THE GUNS?

It's Florida.

I won't read any of the trump people's justifications for this.

There is none.

These poor cops are forced to shoot children.

Think about that. Stop your hate and just think about that.

Why weren't those weapons secured properly?

Oh yes this is Florida.

Where everyone can have a weapon but no one is expected to take any responsibility for those weapons and what they do.

Congratulations! A year of brainwashing kids to hate and fear the police has paid off for you.

You got EXACTLY what you knew you were sowing.

I agree that the issue of the weapons not being secured is a huge one. Everyone I know has their weapons secured, and in a safe. Anything less is just being an irresponsible gun owner. It's sad that these two kid's exposed the owner of the residence not having his weapons secure. That should infuriate all responsible gun owners. Folks if we are going to protect our rights, then we have to make sure that we do so diligently and responsibly. Now I would never agree that (because of these certain situations), that any responsible gun owner should ever be affected by them. Otherwise the kids gaurdians have responsibility in this, and these specific home/gun owners have a responsibility in this, and that's where it ends. I don't ever believe in punishing good folks for the action's of wrecklace or bad folks. The end.

how come you did not ask about what kind of parents these kids have?....

They didn't live with their parents, they were in a Junile Home.....

The pair had broken into the home after fleeing from a juvenile home northeast of Orlando,
-----
Florida United Methodist Church, the home that had fostered the children, has placed a moratorium on its Emergency Shelter Care programme for the next 30 days, according to its president and CEO, Kitwana McTyer.

In a statement, McTyer said the number of children being sent to the home for housing is "beyond the scope of our capabilities to provide the care required".

What this idiot is doing is saying that the girl in Columbus, who was about to stab the other girl with the knife....who was also in foster care with lots of problems.......

Why does America have so many knives......? That is what the first post is essentially asking instead of asking why these kids are from foster homes and group homes instead of two parent families.....
so what happened to mom and dad?....

This boy and girl are not brother and sister. They didn't have the same parents. This older girl has a history of bad behavior. She burned her last foster home to the ground.

There was no reason to secure those guns at all. The children broke into this home. There is no obligation to secure weapons so burglars don't hurt themselves.

Then don’t get a gun. I have repeatedly told associates of mine not to get a gun if you’re not capable and willing to use it to end someone’s life.

Wanting or not wanting to kill someone is immaterial. If they place themselves in a position to get shot, that's their mistake and they need to face those consequences.

Evidently so. Bet it's parental drug use.

The girl burned down a half way house....she was deeply troubled.

Wow....you really are stupid and I don't think it is just when you post.

These guns were in a locked home....they broke in.

Stop your hate.

Gun owners are amazingly responsible but when criminals break the law, break into homes, it isn't the fault of the home owner.......

These kids were raised in bad conditions......but you want to blame guns......600 million guns in private hands, over 19.4 million Americans can carry guns for self defense in public

1.1 million Americans use guns each year to save lives from rape, brutal beatings, robberies and murder...

But two kids raised in horrible situations, the girl apparently had issues and set fires and the boy was in foster care.........but you want to blame guns...

This is why we don't take you seriously.
Did you read the article? These kids weren't armed until they broke into a house that had dozens of unsecured firearms, and readily available ammunition.

If the homeowner had simply locked his firearms up, none of this could have happened.

There was no reason to secure those guns at all. The children broke into this home. There is no obligation to secure weapons so burglars don't hurt themselves.
Geeeez. You would take the same attitude with nuclear weapons. Just put up a don't trespass sign, and hope terrorists don't break in and steal one.
