So the GOP's solution to the debt is to increase military spending, reduce taxes on the very wealthy, and defund Social Security and MediCare. In a manner that the people who look as such things all say would result in even more debt. The GOP is morally bankrupt, and clearly has sold it's soul to the very wealthy, such as the Koch Brothers, and the radicals in the Tea Party.

Deficits are like second mortgages. If you take one out to increase the value of the property, that is usually wise. If you take one out for a long party, the is going to be destructive to your finances.

A deficit for rebuilding infrastructure, and building needed new infrastructure, is a wise investment. Particularly in an economic downturn. A deficit for an unneccessary war is destructive to the nation economically and morally.

The infrastructure has me more concerned than anything. Why the work was voted down? I no longer have any idea. It doesn't make any sense, no matter what they say about the budget. People have died. People will die.

I'd say that makes it about the same thing. In this case the Stimulus stimulated an awful lot of supporters of the DNC. So, I wouldn't necessarily say the left is being dishonest in their choice of wording.
