Let me clear the air

I admire your selflessness. But people like me, and my grandmother who I care for, are on fixed incomes. I cannot sacrifice our economic stability for a better country. I would if my grandmother were able and more cognizant.

I'm sure there are scenarios like mine all over the US.

Honestly, Sue, I don't know what to think or how to react. I voted for Trump, but now I'm worried.

Yes, it's terrible out there. People can't afford caregivers, apts, child care. The job market is trash. Etc.

But we keep putting a bandaid on a gaping, fetid, pus-filled wound and eventually you run out of bandaids. Eventually you have to lance the boil. It hurts, but in the end, it heals.

That's where we are.

But if we are to apply medical analogies to this situation, I would liken this to letting an infection sit too long, either costing a limb, or killing the entire body. Something we should have done long ago and never did.

This was something we should have done years, decades ago. Now the patient is deathly ill, almost terminal.

Agree, but then what do you do? Just give the patient morphine and watch him die? He'll feel better for a bit but he's dying

Sure, but the process is flawed.

They need to cite evidence, not just brag about it.

That takes time. Longer than the four years Trump has in office. It relies on another Republican being elected to continue his policies. It's fraught with risk.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Dis' 'Murica, boy. We do that.

I'm gonna stop you right there. The patient is fine and very strong and recovering nicely.
We're going to be just fine and healthy and prosperous, as will many other countries around the world. There's a rising tide coming that will lift all the boats, especially for the people of countries and not necessarily the leaders of them.

I'm jealous of your overly optimistic attitude about this. But right now I don't share it. Not yet.

As a right-leaner I sort of get it.

I support the utility of abortion (with certain guardrails) but I don't give two shits about "a woman's right to choose" as she chose poorly to start with in most cases.

I vote in every election, local/state/federal.....I vote for Independents in local elections, I don't vote for lawyers. I have not voted for my gop congress critter in a decade or better. I just leave that space blank.

I don't carry water for any political party. The gop is just simply the lesser of two weevils at the present time.

The dems are just bat-shit crazy......I mean they got that Crockett woman as their frontman for goodness sake.

Truth be told I have more in common with the long dead Blue Dog dems of the 60s than the mostly useless grandstanders in the gop congress today.

That said, my vote for Trump is panning out well, I'm finally getting what I voted for. :)

Deporting anyone with suspected ties to TdA/MS-13. We already have one example of a mistake being made. Obey proper procedure and due process, I don't see that happening.

How are judges going to bring back people who have been murder as a result of mistakes made by judges releasing criminal illegals?

I am taking a more classical liberal/libertarian stance now. I let years old stances creep back in and I am addressing that now.
Partisans can't make this kind of distinction. If you're not all in on the MAGA crazy train, you're a flaming progressive leftist. Duh.

I just don't understand how this helps us in the now.
Tariffs work. Quatas work. Im on a job now because they work.

We are building steel mills all over the USA because of Tariffs.

Reagan did the same and put in Quatas even though later he pushed to reverse. The result was auto plants being built in the United States.

We cannot allow oursekves to depend on other coutries to build key industries anymore. Depending on our pissible enemies is a Clear and Present Danger to our country.

No leader before Trump has ever taken aggressive action against the Globalist til Trump.

Cant do that being nice.

THERE IS ONLY A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME TO TRY AND STOP THEM.

May fail but at least he is Trying.

Maybe if the dems did not have the likes of that Crockett woman as their frontman.

You know everyone thinks she's batshit crazy to the point she makes AOC sound reasonable.....How messed-up is that?
