And every little blip of improvement in the economy or unemployment or whatever is evidence that his efforts to spend us into oblivion are working.

And every little setback or increase in unemployment or any other issues he can't quite control are George Bush's fault.

In other words, life on the internet rocks along pretty normally.

I don't think Bill Clinton was an ideologue at all. Bill Clinton wanted to be loved and appreciated more than he really cared about anything or anybody. So whatever he thought would make people happy was okay with him and he pretty well went along to get along. He had no strong convictions he was willing to expend political capital to fight for. That is one reason his approval ratings stayed as high as they did despite all his personal faux pas.

Our current President, in contrast, hasn't been successful in accomplishing some goals desired by leftwingers, but that should not be interpreted that he intended something else.

Obama has been MUCH more moderate then I would have hoped. If he had been as liberal as many thought, the healthcare bill would be MUCH different and probably much more effective and our troops would be much closer to coming home.

Yeah, I think it is too soon to turn on him. I'm not totally satisfied with the job he's done so far, but I'm not predicting the end of the world that the right would lead you to believe. It's been a year and a half running a country that was in tremendous turmoil when he took over. I am willing to wait to pass judgment after more time has passed. Although so far, for me, he has been far to moderate with his decisions.
