a bit left for most social issues, pretty far right on fiscal issues.

One guy I met told me he was a libertarian socialist.

Libertarian socialism is an anti-authoritarian and anti-capitalist political current that emphasises self-governance and workers' self-management. It is contrasted from other forms of socialism by its rejection of state ownership and from other forms of libertarianism by its rejection of private property.

My opinions and principles have remained unchanged over the last 20 or 30 years. That means whereas I was once left of center, I am now right of center.

The only way for socialism to work is to have someone, or some group of people, tell you how to think, act, and what you can own.

Sounds wonderful.

That sounds even more impossible to implement than actual Communism.

The poll is somewhat misleading in that it doesn't describe the values at all.

1. Left: progressive, tax and spend leftist, supports LGBTQ+ initiatives, and DAs who let criminals back on the streets
hates: Patriotism, religion/Christmas, the Founding Fathers, parental rights, and the police.

2. A bit Left: less support/hate for the above.

3. Center: doesn't like or dislike anything. whatever happens is just fine.

4. A bit right: Less support for items in 5 below.

5. Right: Religious, patriotic, law-abiding, hard-working and tax paying, supports the 2nd Amendment, supports "family values", opposes LGBTQ+ initiatives, especially in schools, opposes transgender butchering of minors, respects the Founding Fathers and all who fought in the Civil War, supports parental rights over schools pushing deviant behaviors. Politically a fiscal and social conservative.
