Learning from free speech history to preserve democracy

Have we not retained the lesson that government or media control of speech always leads to disaster? Germany. Russia. China. Even the EU today all examples of how things turn out badly. So how is it that this board deems it necessary, even mandatory that controllers delete, closed off or prevent free speech here? It is a danger that should end.
