I think Cruz can beat her, but it would be a much closer race than if she were running against say Rubio or Kasich.

The obvious choice would be Kasich. For multiple reasons.

But I hear tell he's a communist/socialist/Marxist who wants to turn America into Cuba, so that won't happen, no way.

Cruz can't even beat his own party. They hate him as much as they hate Trump. Kasich isn't crazy enough to get the Republican nomination.

Cruz thought he had the crazy vote locked up, but then along came Trump and outcrazied him like a chump. But Cruz did recently say he would crumble up the constitution and shred it to pieces to allow patrolling of Muslim neighborhoods. That's why he's seen a bump over the last few days.
