Landslide!

Both cults at one time or another claim a landslide victory.
But here is the real problem. The democrats have failed to choose a decent candidate in a number of tries. The last democrat president could be claimed to be the worst one we have had. The fact the democrats tried to run some of the worst candidates in the last election shows how out of touch they are.
Unfortunately for a lot of those on here yelling constantly that the sky is falling because Trump is president do not see that it will take a few years before we see how things he is doing shake out for good or bad. But constantly yelling about it makes only two things possible. One is they look crazy. Two is if they are wrong then they look even crazier.
If they do get some of it right it will fall under the idea that even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
And, right now they are ganging up on one of the most common sense democrats they have in John Fetterman, trying to throw him overboard. Opposing views are not allowed. If you step outside of the Borg Collective, they will destroy you, just as Putin's critics accidentally fall out of high windows.

Just wanted to clarify something for future reference. Being a numbers geek, I wanted to check something out.

I'm told, on a pretty regular basis, that Trump's 2024 win was a "landslide". When I point out that he didn't even receive half the votes, or when I point out that his popular vote margin of victory was only 1.5%, I'm told those don't matter. The only fallback, of course, is the Electoral College vote, 312-226. So it's not about Americans or people, it's about the Electoral College. Okay.

Let's look at that result from a historical perspective, shall we?

As it turns out, both of Trump's wins were near the historical bottom in terms of percentage of electoral votes won (since the number of electoral votes have changed over the years). In fact, both Clinton and Obama had a higher percentage in their wins. Please see below.

In fairness, both parties just love to call any win a "mandate", which is bullshit. We are a 50/50 country and hopefully we'll get a President who understands what that means before it's too late. But pretending that Trump's complete destruction of our institutions and standing in the world is justified by a "landslide" victory is pure bullshit.

Most of the states in the US are solid red or blue. So the election always comes down to the swing states and Trump SWEPT ALL OF THEM. In today's context that is a 'landslide'. Popular vote totals are interesting but a non-factor. FYI Trump won the popular vote by 2 MILLION votes.

well factually speaking, most states are red, any blue states are blue due to populations in one city. Chicago, LA, Baltimore. everywhere else in those states is mostly red. Take a look at the counties Trump won. Holy fk.

When you kick the shit out of Democrats in spite of 8 years of constant attacks, lawfare, attempts to remove him from the ballot and nudging whackos to shoot the guy that's a landslide. When the fake news broadcast 90+% negative propaganda about you and you still win 312, sweeping EVERY SWING STATE and win the popular vote that's a landslide.

Spin all you want, Democrats got their asses kicked. Dems bled voters from their base to Trump. Trump won percentages in all sorts of voter categories that were historic highs. The trend is Dems are in a world of shit!

And his approval rating since January 20 has dropped like a rock and 2026 isn’t looking very good either. I’ve highlighted the Fox News polls. Even Fox fans are getting sick of him

Most of WA state is a great place -- it's just that damn pesky blue streak that needs to be steamrolled.

Oregon, ditto.

Someone posted a graphic on here the other day showing the red/blue map of the counties. That isn't anything new but, after really looking at it hard, I saw that there are actually some blue states. I remember Hawaii, Vermont, New Hampshire (a surprise), Massachusetts, and probably Connecticut and Rhode Island (they were too small to actually tell for sure). Maine may have also been on there but I can't remember for sure.

Other than that, every other state was undoubedly red, including both California and New York.

When you consider the left in California, counted fake ballots for weeks to offset the landslide, it makes sense why the margin shrunk dolt!

Dude, I'm from the worst city in the country, Chicago.
.

Condolences.

When it explodes, you don't have far to travel to make it to the safety of the Dakotas. You'll be welcome.

Just skip the blue haven of Minnesota.

Also, Iowa can be sketchy.
