Landlord must uphold transgender tenant's rights - latimes.com

If this doesn't convince you, nothing will.

The lease says MICHAEL.

The landlord is responsible for stopping the other tenants from calling the mutant a dude or a freak. If the landlord loses tenants, too fucking bad.

This is when liberals force their deviant, mental illness onto others and require reality to be denied.

Only a deviant, liberal mutant could be fine with this.

Noomi, and other libs. Are you going to say "how does this impact anyone"? The landlord is forced to deny reality despite the lease. The landlord might lose other tenants and thus income, and if the landlord doesn't deny reality he can be sued. I bet you if the tranny does anyone that warrants eviction that isn't unlawful there, the tranny will claim discrimination anyways. The landlord is fucked THANKS TO LIBERAL MUTANTS.

Yer calling the LA county governing body "deviant, liberal mutant".
That's not a surprise to most of the world.

What happens if the landlord wants to serve notice on the tenant but is forced to use the fantasy name? The court will say "well, that's not Michael Freak". Landlords will always use your formal name. But I guess not when liberals force you to deny reality.

This also means that the landlord is required to make sure the other tenant's GUESTS are required to call it Michelle as well and any invitees like the mailman, repairmen, etc.

Did you accidentally sleep with a tranny at some point?

I'm trying to understand why you're so obsessed with them. Why does it matter what the landlord calls her?

Did you read the fucking thing? The landlord doesn't want to be forced to deny reality. The lease says MICHAEL.

Why should others be forced to play a role in someone else's fantasy world?

No, it doesn't. The landlord hasn't magically become responsible for other people. He's just not allowed to discriminate against the tenant.

YOu clearly didn't read the article. The article states he's responsible for the actions of other tenants. So even more so he is responsible for the actions of invitees onto the property. If the cable guy doesn't call it Michelle, the landlord can get in trouble.

I can't for the life of me figure out why you find this "outrageous".

Do you think that the landlord should have the right to discriminate? Or are you just outraged for the sake of being outraged?

THE LANDLORD IS REQUIRED TO DENY REALITY. THATS WHY. JESUS FUCKING CHRIST.

how is calling someone by the name on the lease discrimination?

If you are fine with forcing other people to deny reality, say if a tenant can think he paid rent and the landlord is forced to believe it?

No, that's not what the article says at all.

The article says that he has a responsibility to attempt to stop harassment. Not that he'll get in trouble if the cable guy calls him Michael.

Are you really arguing that the landlord should have the right to harass his tenants?

Calling the tenant "michael" is considered harassment. You didn't read the article. FUCKING READ IT AGAIN, then respond.

That doesn't any make sense.

The law prohibits discrimination and harassment, nothing more than that. Your opinion of what is or is not "reality" is completely meaningless. If the intent is to harass, that's when it becomes a legal issue.

Do you think that landlords should be able to refer to handicapped tenants as "gimps"? I mean, that's "reality", right?

Calling the tenant Michael with the intent to harass could be considered harassment.

I did read the "article" (or letter to the editor, actually) - the letter is nothing more than the opinion of the LA Times editor who wrote it, not a legal opinion.

Sigh. I have been in property management in CALIFORNIA for over 45 years.

The OP is a fruitloop.

You once again CLEARLY did not read it, becaucse it's not a letter to the editor. The author of the advice is NOT an editor. The author is:

"Eichner is director of Housing Counseling Programs for Project Sentinel, a Bay Area nonprofit."

Now read it ONE MORE FUCKING TIME.

You can use any name you want.

And, if the tenant is not breaking the terms of the lease, its no one's business.

Calm down, call your therapist, get the help you so desperately need.

OR -- list all the others you believe should be discriminated against.

So if the landlord was jewish and the tranny demanded to be called Eva Braun, you would be fine with forcing the landlord to call the tenant Eva Braun?

The name on the lease is MICHAEL.
