I wouldn't go to this parade, if you sent a limo to my house and drove me in. First of all, parades are boring, way too many people and finally, there's also the possibility of "teens" or others, causing problems.

You know. Back when people actually possessed a modicum of moral integrity, this parade would not have happened.
However, a moral society wouldn't have conducted itself in the way those people did.
What a sad state of things.
Makes a man pray for natural disasters. However, who would want the karmic responsibility for wishing the destruction of trash?
Not this kid!

What a pair of miseries you both are.

I have no interest in basketball but appreciate that a local team finally winning after so many years is worthy of a city parade.

Nor is a team parading through a city after a spectacular win exactly novel.

That's the great thing about a message board. It's a place to hear opinions. I like sports, but just don't care for parades. You're entitled to your thoughts as well.

I can understand your not liking crowds I am not overly keen on them myself but I do hope the New Yorkers enjoy their moment. They have waited a long time.

Are the team members required to march in this parade? With all the crazy shit going on in the Big Apple, I would think most of the Knickerbockers wouldn't have come back after the final game and instead would be relaxing in the off season out of town.

I guess I have to break out the crayons for the split tail.
Alright lady,
Those 'fans' cost the citizens of NY millions in police overtime, destruction of public and private property, medical, jails, courts etc.
Those funds could have gone to the parade. If those fans want a parade, they should have to pay for it.
The team should do a cost analysis, take it to the city for approval, and start a collection.

Why should the taxpayers be on the hook to pay for their own destruction and then the celebration of it?

I take your point but where is the destruction of the city? I suspect that as it was on Saturday night the majority will simply enjoy themselves.

Do you take the same dim view of the St Patrick's Day parade or the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade?

Our NYC office was concerned about the traffic but seems to be isolated to lower Manhattan financial district which those guys barely work. lol. Battery Park to City Hall. Should be pretty awesome. They turned in one of the best NBA series ever so a parade is earned.

I mean, who'd want to be in a place of joy and celebrate with others? Right? Geez man. Cheer up. You used to be fun right?
