You are correct. However, we see the same partisan rhetoric maxed out from media/entertainers every day on TV. They are not getting their teeth knocked down their throat. And it is much deserved. There is no logical reason that when a Republican starts agreeing with a Democrat then the Democrat changes views on it. Internally, many Americans have no concerns for the health of political opponents. If Republican voters were like your brownshirts many of the media people alone would be dead. Studying their habits and going for the ones with less security at first would be a piece of cake for those with ideological vengeance.
