This is one of the worst trades I've ever seen. The Suns have thrown away too many 1st rounders for the rest of this decade. Durant is fragile and likely past his prime, they better win it all this year, or next. Durant won it all as a Warrior, but he never led a team to a championship.
The Brooklyn Nets are trading Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns in a blockbuster move, league sources confirmed to Yahoo Sports.
The Suns also will send forward Jae Crowder, who has not played this season after requesting a trade in the offseason, to the Nets, according to reports. Crowder could be part of an additional trade ahead of the deadline at 3 p.m. Thursday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported.

Brooklyn will also receive Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, four unprotected first-round draft picks in 2023, 2025, 2027 and 2029 and a 2028 pick swap, according to ESPN.
TJ Warren is headed to Phoenix in the deal, as well.
After the Nets traded Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks over the weekend, Durant reportedly met with Brooklyn's front office to discuss "the direction of the franchise and its ability to be a championship contender." Apparently, those conversations were not fruitful.

Why?Really, at some point the League should step in and nullify/disallow trades like this.
The Suns have no future, they might win a title this year, and next year, when Durant gets hurt, their season is over. And they gave up all their draft picks for that one title. If you remember, they did the same thing with Barkley and he took them to the finals. Durant can get them a title, but they will be a one hit wonder. How many players outside the top 15 picks of the NBA draft have ended up being very good, let alone anywhere near as good as KD? The Suns with KD will be a playoff team every year which puts them outside that window until he's gone. Unlike the NFL you just dont see many good players let alone stars who aren't lottery picks. How many players drafted outside the top 15 who have been drafted in the past 3 years can you name who are stars on their team?
Why?
You think the Suns will be worse because they added one of the best players on the planet? But even if they are why should the league stop trades based on that fact?Because the Suns will suck for 10 years after making such a bonehead move.
They aren’t winning a title without him. And there’s little chance they win one with the late round draft picks they gave up either. Who are these late round draft picks who turn into stars in the NBA? Even late 1st round. The Suns have no future, they might win a title this year, and next year, when Durant gets hurt, their season is over. And they gave up all their draft picks for that one title. Long term. yes.You think the Suns will be worse because they added one of the best players on the planet?
Because long after Durant is gone and the owner has sold the team...the fans who built the stadium via taxes will still be there. But even if they are why should the league stop trades based on that fact?
They don't have a front office who could find those late first round picks anyway. Now Brooklyn has a few years to actually build a team with the extra picks. They just forced Sarver out as owner, I don't even know who owns them, but I did hear he has more money than Sarver. They aren’t winning a title without him. Name one drafted by any team in the last 4 years. They don't have a front office who could find those late first round picks anyway. Now Brooklyn has a few years to actually build a team with the extra picks.
Because there really isn’t one. draft picks aren’t that valuable in the NBA.I don't follow the NBA that closely. I don't really care anyway.
Ever hear of Dennis Rodman? They aren’t winning a title without him. And there’s little chance they win one with the late round draft picks they gave up either. Who are these late round draft picks who turn into stars in the NBA? Even late 1st round.
Dennis Rodman was drafted in the last 4 years?Ever hear of Dennis Rodman?
very few players who are drafted out of the top 10-15 become key contributors to their team. None of them are as good as KD.Ever hear of Dennis Rodman?
mmmm no. You asked about non first round draft picks who have made an impact.Dennis Rodman was drafted in the last 4 years?
How many players outside the top 15 picks of the NBA draft have ended up being very good
So the only example you could come up with is a guy who been out of the league for decades? Compelling.mmmm no. You asked about non first round draft picks who have made an impact.
Just for arguments sake, thanks to the Durant trade, they get 4 extra chances now. Durant will probably beast the rest of the season, and maybe next. I think the bench is a little thin.very few players who are drafted out of the top 10-15 become key contributors to their team. None of them are as good as KD.
