I think that's right. But they made the choice for the Orange Menace for stupid reasons. Like the belief he would make inflation go away. Or target the criminal element among illegal immigrants. Or appoint a competent cabinet. Or not use the office to grift. Or that declaring tariffs indiscriminately, and recklessly, is an effective economic policy.
