Well, more power to him, I'm just surprised that he would rely on polygraphs to fire people. It wouldn't surprise me if many appealed their dismissal based on the polygraph alone. It has value, but is not infallible.

If they are fired and they appeal it because a polygraph was part of the process, their appeal will fail.

That's not to say that some employers might not still use it and base their decisions on it, after all, then it is just up to you to fight them in court over it.
