The indigenous people of India are generally more dark skinned than European people but both are Caucasian. Kamala's father who has some very impressive credentials by the way is a native of Jamaica and almost certainly a descendant of slaves the Brits, Portuguese or whoever transported to the new world after Britain ejected the Spaniards from Jamaica and made it into a British colony.

So Kamala most likely does have African ancestors and is technically 'half black.' I always though it rather dishonest when a 'half black' person claims to be all of a certain race but then 'half breed' doesn't sound really good either.

I still long for a society in which we all identify as Americans instead of a color of skin.

Our government(s) came up with this racial categorization of the people of the United States specifically so that they could discriminate against non-whites.

Even if every single one of us decided today to call ourselves simply "Americans", our government(s) as well as many of our fellow citizens would still make a point of not just pointing out the distinctions, but using them to do what they've always used them to do - discriminate.

This is not something that Black people realistically have any control over.

But the powers that be don't live forever and/or don't HAVE to be allowed to stay in power. The people get the government they deserve. We just need to live our lives in a way to change the culture so that we deserve (and elect) a different people in government than what we have now.

Her mother is Indian. I just saw an old CNN special talking with her family back home in India. They have heavy accents and talked about how her mother being from India, her uncle lives in Delhi today. She visited India with her mother often as a kid.

She is probably more Indian than Jamaican. This is direct from a CNN special. A special they will disown if it means it would cost Harris 5% of the black vote.

The division of the Dem voters has made THEM racist. They are actually voting based on race. It's sick and it's time people spoke out about it being wrong. Marketing ones racial background if it is convenient for their purpose.

Jamaican is not a race, it’s a nationality. Her father was a black Jamaican.
