I didn't watch the performance.....so I can't say if you're assessment is biased or not.

I have seen his videos and never saw any range in his vocals.

It's really just "mumbles in Spanish a lot in a lower octave".

He's no Farrokh Bulsara who had a range of 5 octaves.

I did see a couple of brief clips from Sad Bunny's halftime show and found it to be an incomprehensible mess, both musically and optically.

He raps a lot. He's singing the song when he's standing on the roof of that old Ford pickup. That's when I noticed that he knows the tricks. Our last lead singer sang the Budweiser commercials on the radio. Listening to him on recordings is eye opening. Anyone can add vocal vibrato onto the last word of a line. Putting it onto the second to the last word is the kind of thing that I'm talking about.

3 octaves is average. Before my voice changed mine was just barely 4. I don't know what it is now. I haven't performed in decades.
I heard Julie Andrews had over 4 octaves.

I'm a deep baritone. On the rare occasions when I have done karaoke, I can do some George Jones, Randy Travis, Vern Gosdin, Toby Keith stuff pretty well.
Pretty much everything else is out of my range.

Me too. I like singing Alan Jackson, but his range is a tad too low for me, and when I try to transpose up an octave, it's a stretch.
