I once talked to a white cop who had retired from the St. Petersburg Police Department.

He said he had far fewer problems dealing with the blacks on the south side of the city than the rednecks in Pinellas Park. He could often reason with the blacks and resolve problems between individuals but nothing ever seemed to work with the rednecks especially if they had been drinking.

Of course he retired from the police department 25 years ago and times change.
