Kind of a Catch 22
You have to work to get Medicaid. But if you work, your employer should provide healthcare
No they don't have to work to get MedicAID. It is the medical version of welfare.
MediCARE, along with Social Security is what you work and pay for thru payroll deduction........paid to you when you either retire or become disabled.
Anyone that is disabled but has NOT worked 10+ years, is eligible for SSI and MediCAID.
SSDI is paid to those who become disabled, who have worked the required time and paid into SSA's system and after 2 years automatically get MediCARE.
Two different programs, two different rules. One you work and pay for, while the other is when you don't work and others pay for it
