Just because you can invent autonomous terminator-like robots doesn't mean you should. Saw some doc last night which included a 'fencing robot' being taught how to fight. Ya, that's a good idea. No worries there.
While the Terminator movie idea is still far-fetched, the worry of wars becomming more or fully automated only makes wars more likely. If you're not worried about losing flesh and blood soldiers but just cheaply made robotic systems, you don't fear the horrors of wars any more. And fearing that horror is a big part of what keeps us from lobbing nukes at each other. If robotic combat systems continue to evolve unchecked though it's only a matter of time before wars between high-tech socities like the US and low-tech ones in the middle east see armies of robotic drones laying waste to real flesh and blood people. But because we're not suffering the same fate no one's gonna oppose those conflicts.

Not concept or CG, that's a real fucking stealth drone launching from a US carrier.
US Navy launches stealth drone X-47B, makes aviation history
We're taking the blood out of war (at least for our side) and thus all the reasons we usually refrain from conducting them. This has to stop.
