We have twisted the rule of law into an optional accessory, applied or dismissed depending on whose name is on the paperwork. Thatās not justice ā thatās rot. And the longer we pretend itās fine, the faster the foundation crumbles beneath us.
Donald Trump is not some political anomaly. He is the product of every unchecked lie, every racist dog whistle, every act of cruelty we told ourselves didnāt matter because the economy was doing āfine.ā He didnāt break America. He revealed what we were willing to excuse to avoid a fight.
What weāre facing now is not a political opponent. Itās a movement rooted in vengeance, delusion, and willful ignorance ā a cult of personality willing to dismantle the very system that allowed it to exist. And itās working, because too many people in power are too afraid to speak the truth out loud.
How do you reach someone who no longer believes in facts? How do you pull a friend back from the edge when theyāve decided that lies feel better than reality? You try. You keep trying. Because giving up is how it spreads. Silence is how it wins.
Every institution we took for granted ā the press, the courts, the ballot box ā is being mocked and mauled in plain sight. And millions are cheering it on.
Not because they want a better America, but because they want to feel powerful while it burns.
Who are ready to speak up. Who are sick of pretending this is normal.

Patriotism in the military doesn't die as easily as Trump is depending on for his defeat of democracy.

Sadly, you might be right. It might just take a military coup to remove Trump from office. I live about 10 miles from a military base. The people who work for the military do so because they deeply believe in democracy nd the rule of law. If Trump continues refusing to follow the law, the scenario you describe most certainly can and will happen. And the general who does it will be elected as president.
