Actually, Smollett spent six says in jail before he was released, because the last thing Cook County wants is for him to die in jail.

So now they just hope it quietly goes away, as he's been out and about for about a year now, and no one is in any big hurry to lock him up again.

We are not made safer by cops shooting black people for minor infractions.

We WOULD be safer if we put more money into drug treatment programs, mental health treatment programs, and of course, making it harder for people who shouldn't have guns to get them.

I'm sorry, when did we have a race riot over Jussie Smollett. Because I live here. We didn't have a race riot when he got beaten up. We didn't have a race riot when that corrupt ass judge gave Jason van Dyke a slap on the wrist. In fact, we didn't have race riots until George Floyd, and most of that was people already going a little stircrazy from being locked up in their houses for three months.
