Not by themselves. The british would have won the Revolutionary War if not for Native Americans showing guerilla warfare to the colonial whites.White folks made this country great.

Do you feel the same about Columbus Day?
Everyone is not Christian but we have xmas.
You don’t have to be black to celebrate closing an ugly chapter in American history. You don't have to be Christian to celebrate Christmas as there's the commercial part of it.
You don’t have to be black to celebrate closing an ugly chapter in American history.
Maybe, just maybe it’s not about you. That doesn't even make any sense. I mean don't get me wrong, I'm glad that black people aren't slaves anymore, but it's sort of pointless for me to celebrate Juneteenth when I'm not black.
“What to the American slave is your Fourth of July? I answer, a day that reveals to him more than all other days of the year, the gross injustice and cruelty to which he is the constant victim. To him your celebration is a sham; your boasted liberty an unholy license; your national greatness, swelling vanity; your sounds of rejoicing are empty and heartless; your shouts of liberty and equality, hollow mock; your prayers and hymns, your sermons and thanksgivings, with all your religious parade and solemnity, are to him mere bombast, fraud, deception, impiety, and hypocrisy - a thin veil to cover up crimes which would disgrace a nation of savages. There is not a nation of the earth guilty of practices more shocking and bloody than are the people of these United States at this very hour.”That doesn't even make any sense. I mean don't get me wrong, I'm glad that black people aren't slaves anymore, but it's sort of pointless for me to celebrate Juneteenth when I'm not black.
Fact. The could not have matched up with the best military on earth by fighting them in the conventional warfare of that time.HaHaHa
But one does if one's white? You know, 4th of July and all that?None whatsoever. You don't need a holiday to be thankful that your ancestors were free if you're black. Just be thankful.
No need to be so kind...I kinda figured you were clueless.
That's ironic since July 4th is supposed to be the day we celebrate being a FREE country.
Yet you care about Juneteenth. Why is that?I don't really give a hoot one way or the other about it.

Eventually the Continental Army was able to match the British Army. But it needed a lot of training in European style warfare from people like the Marquis de Lafayette and Baron von Steuben, both professional military officers. Washington’s officers were largely amateurs and often political appointees the the results were obvious.Fact. The could not have matched up with the best military on earth by fighting them in the conventional warfare of that time.
July 4th is a race based holiday because only 1 race was freed. July 4th then, is a day of white supremacy. Whatever hate there is for whites is because people like you create it with your silly opposition to anything celebrating to accomplishments of non white people. The 4th of July isn't a race based holiday.
I don't care about the day itself, I care about all the black people spreading the hate among white people.
You were fine until the last sentence. It was a republican named Thomas Corwin who crafted an amendment that was passed by congress to make slavery constitutional.Juneteenth is promoted as a holiday to balkanize our society. The slaves were freed with the penning of the Declaration of Independence. Sure, there were steps leading up to that but it signaled a new nation that rejected slavery in it’s founding. It took time to unravel slavery’s tentacles, which had been established since the beginning of human history. The vast majority of slaves in the US had already been freed by Juneteenth. The date only marks the last few bitter Democrats releasing their slaves under the threat of the US military.
Why not? You're celebrating the ending of slavery in the US. If you celebrate and love freedom, surely that should be a holiday for you. That doesn't even make any sense. I mean don't get me wrong, I'm glad that black people aren't slaves anymore, but it's sort of pointless for me to celebrate Juneteenth when I'm not black.
This ^^A lot of people celebrate different holidays and events. Not every event has to be about or for everyone.
