• “cut” (reduced the growth rate of) Medicare spending by $115 billion;
• “cut” Medicaid spending by $14 billion;
• cut other mandatory spending by $40 billion;
• contained new “Presidential [spending] initiatives” that increased spending by $31 billion; and
• cut taxes by a net $85 billion (and a gross $135 billion, $50 billion of which was offset by other tax increases).

So I agree a strong fiscal conservative president a fiscal conservative House and a strong fiscal conservative Senate.

We haven’t had that since then, why are Democrats now complaining about the cuts we are seeing? They are the same cuts Clinton and Democrats favored in the 90’s, flip flopper.

Those three nailed it, but you needed all three to work together, that benefits the whole country.

Social issues for the most part government needs to stay out of. I am a fiscal conservative, I want government to spend as little as possible, and after they bring debt down to $0, then cut taxes on everyone. The CBO has forecast a $3.4 trillion increase in the federal budget deficit as a result of Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill.”

At least Biden's spending went to us. Infrastructure, student loan forgiveness, stimulus to prevent a economic crisis. Biden got us out of the mess relatively unharmed. No high unemployment, interest rates didn't go up like they did on Reagan's watch. I think my dad was paying 20% interest on his home in the late 70's? That seems crazy today.

The Reagan tax breaks also helped the middle class, and those just starting out, when I was just starting out, his tax breaks helped my wife and I out, but I do agree we need to tax everyone equally, I think if everyone paid a 20% off the top tax on their income, earned or passive, and no deductions or credit, that could pay down the debt and then once it is paid off, we could ease it to 10%, but we need change and neither party wants change.

I think we should be sanctioning Russia more. I can't believe we aren't already sanctioning them 100%. Boycotting them. We do business with Russia still? I had no idea.

Yes, the U.S. continues to conduct some business with Russia, but trade volume and types of transactions have significantly decreased since 2022 due to sanctions and export controls imposed following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

I can't believe we don't completely boycott Russia and any country doing business with them. But since we do business with them, how can we tell anyone else not to?

I guess it's a lot harder than you or Trump thought it would be to bring about ever lasting peace. So much for ending the wars on day one.
