I thought these reports were released at 8:30am, usually on the first Friday of month.

But I see it is already out there, but forwarns, "Transmission of material in this news release is embargoed until 8:30 a.m. (ET) Friday, August 6, 2021".

So I'm not letting the cat out of the bag, but you can see it for yourself at:

declined by 0.5 percentage point to 5.4 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics
reported today.

Back in Spring the economic forecasters were predicting eight million new jobs this year. So I've been using 8,000,000/12 to determine my level of satisfaction with the monthly number. This month beat my hopes by about a third. But don't check my math, it is still early here and I'm just finishing my first cup of coffee.

One disappointment is that: "Manufacturing employment is 433,000 below its February 2020 level" and only increased by 27,000 last month.
