Interesting Notes:

The records show the DOJ replaced the words 'group' and 'crowd' with the word 'mob' to make the unarmed crowd seem more of a threat to help justify the shooting and murder of Asli Babbitt.

Byrd did not complete any reports or documentation on the shooting and killing of Babbitt. No report filed?! Byrd did offer to give a verbal debrief.

Byrd stated he was down behind the right side of the barricade. When Babbitt climbed through the broken window Byrd stated he got up from behind the barticade, stepped forward, and shot the unarmed Babbit. By his own admission he stated said, looking at Babbitt, he saw her wearing a backpack and having nothing in her hands.

Byrd was larger than Babbitt. He was armed with a pistol. Babbitt had nothing. Still, Byrd claimed he was in fear for his life... After shooting Babbitt, he stepped back ad returned to his spot behind the barricade.

Byrd had only 1 other incident in which he used his firearm. It is reported that he was found at fault / in the wrong; however, that decision was reversed after he appealed.
