The OP thread is swinish partisan propaganda. Nobody knows what efforts are going into back-channel negotiations to get American and other foreign hostages released, or even why Americans visiting relatives in Gaza have not gotten out yet either. Indeed, nobody knows exactly the real intentions of Israel or Hamas in the next period, or of Hezbollah either.

The situation may be resolved by a bloodbath of hostages and innocent Palestinians and a much wider war, by another Nakba in Gaza forcing Palestinians first into the Southern Gaza Strip and then into Sinai and beyond, or even by an arranged escape or surrender of some Hamas leaders to an Arab country and the return to power of a sad and inevitably corrupt Palestinian Authority government.

Despite the fact that many Arab authoritarian governments like Egypt quietly support purging Hamas, Israeli attempts to destroy Hamas without setting off a larger & more murderous war, or outright genocide of tens of thousands of innocent Palestinians, will likely prove impossible without extended negotiations and significant aid from the West and rich Arab countries to the now totally helpless and dependent Gazan population.

Most of our rightwing USMB complainers about this humanitarian aid are just a sad bunch of macho big mouth (but tiny-brain) poseurs, whether they hate Arabs & claim to love Israel (like good Christian Zionists), or criticize U.S. aid to Israel, or whether they are vicious genuine anti-Semitic creeps.
