Read my latest post. I did something you would never do and research it. And your proof comes from a single post on X and was blown out of from there. It's actually 2 forms of picture ID and a SS card to get the permit from the city to do the job. Technically, you become an employee of the City of New York. You don't have to show both forms to do the work but you do have to show a picture ID and the permit to do the job just like every other City Employee. Yes, I think it's a bit much and another reason for me NOT to live in NYC. But you shouldn't lie about it.

If you don't have a serviceable car, how difficult is it to get an ID? I hold that if you are required to have a picture id, then it's up to the Government to make the means available.

Now, try and get a couple of hundred miles from your home to the DMV at the county seat with a low paying job where you can't afford to fix your car. You are using one argument to qualify another. In NYC, if you can't walk to the dmv then use the bus system provided. In Western Texas, there aren't any buses running for you to ride from your podunk village to the county seat. Unless the pig truck is going that way. And you will need to find a chicken truck to get home.

I imagine that poor minorities on the government dole - SNAP, TANF, subsidized housing, Medicaid, etc. - had to have had IDs in order to get their paws on other people’s money.
