The terms "Zionist" and "Zionism" have long lost their usefulness and have become slurs and attempts by those with antisemitic tendencies to hide or deny their irrational beliefs. You're conflating "Jews" with "Zionists" and not all Jews demand the slaughter and eviction of Palestine's native residents for their ever expanding "Greater Israel".
You claim to define "Zionist" as "those who demand the slaughter and eviction" of Arabs from Israel/Palestine. You will find no such thing exists, as no Jews "demand the slaughter and eviction" of Arabs, as a collective.
I do not believe you define "Zionist" by those criteria, though, given some of the other claims you have made which I will go into more detail below. You define "Zionist" as "those who uphold the moral (and/or legal) right of the Jewish people to self-determination, including sovereignty and statehood, in their indigenous, historical, and cultural homeland."
If so, great. I define it in that way as well, as do most Jews in the world. What I don't understand about the beliefs of those who use "Zionist" as a slur, is why the aspiration to self-determination is evil, malicious, or harmful? The Arab Palestinians aspire to the same thing.
Perhaps we could come together on a definition of the terms.
Interesting claim. I was not aware that the Inuit build their houses of prayer/worship oriented towards Jerusalem. Nor that they follow seasonal holidays according to the seasons of Israel. Nor that they pray, "Next year in Jerusalem". Nor that they mourn the destruction of the Temple. Nor that they speak an ancient language which originated in that territory. Just as a few small examples, of course.Israel's ruling Zionists are no more connected to Palestine / Israel than the Eskimos are.
Hardly mute. I've been accused of many things over the years, but mute is laughably absent from my numerous flaws. I have consistently supported the right to Arab self-determination for a second and third state in the territory of Mandate Palestine. (Well, I did until October 7).You claim to apply "the same standards to all peoples" but are conspicuously mute when it comes to Palestine's native residents who simply want to remain "masters of their own fate."
The Arabs of Gaza were masters of their own fate in 2005. They made their choices.
You make assumptions in this paragraph you do not have the knowledge about me to make. You have no idea what my relationships are with either Israelis or Palestinians. It is odd for you to both suspect that I am Israeli and now claim that I've never met those whose lives are intimately affected by the conflict.I believe that if you had ever seen conditions in any war torn 3rd World countries, spent time in the Middle East, studied the region for 60 years and spent time in and around Palestinian refugee camps perhaps then you would oppose the slaughter of people you've never met and been programmed to hate via pro Israel MSM.
Of course, I don't support the misery inflicted on the Arabs. I simply properly assign the cause of the misery to be Hamas and the citizens of Gaza who support and assist them.I simply can't believe that any rational, objective and informed person could support the misery inflicted on Palestine's long tormented native residents.
