The Israeli soldiers who damaged a figure of Jesus Christ in southern Lebanon and photographed the incident will be removed from combat duty and sentenced to 30 days of military detention, according to the Israeli military.

Six additional soldiers who witnessed the incident but did nothing to stop it or report it will be summoned for what the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) called “clarification discussions that will be held later on.” The IDF said other command-level measures could be taken.

On Sunday, a photo emerged on social media of an Israeli soldier wielding what appears to be a hammer or axe against the figure of a crucified Jesus Christ in the predominantly Christian town of Debel. The photo seemingly showed the soldier hitting the head of the figure after it had been removed from the cross.

OK, so they were punished.....How often do you see 30 days in jail for the leftists that do riot and mayhem in our country?

Silver lining. Always trust the IDF over "activists" or Hamas/Qatar/Iran linked "reporting"

SILVER LINING

of this stupid act case by one soldier and swift IDF action.

TRUST THE IDF

A Mistake—And a Military That Holds Itself Accountable.
IDF Investigation Proves the Rule: Transparency and Discipline Over False Narratives.

“According to Israel Defense Forces reporting cited by The Times of Israel (April 2026), the image of a soldier damaging a statue of Jesus in Lebanon is authentic—and the IDF has already committed to taking disciplinary action.

Importantly, the incident does not reflect hostility toward Christians; rather, it appears tied to interpretation of religious prohibitions on graven images as in the 2nd Commandment, acted on a personal choice. not any institutional stance. What stands out is the IDF’s internal accountability: misconduct is swiftly identified, acknowledged, and addressed.

The IDF didn't try to whitewash, deny or misstate.

This is precisely why the IDF is a professional and self-regulating military. Its willingness to investigate its own personnel contrasts sharply with narratives pushed by some anti-Israel actors, including groups that present themselves as neutral ‘human rights’ organizations but often lack comparable transparency or scrutiny of their own claims

Sure - sentenced to 30 days of military detention - most likely in Gaza given a chance to redeem himself.

It just shows the true face of these radical Zionist creeps - caught on photo so we need to act as if we did something against it whilst denying and trying to play the world for stupid in regards to their genocidal policy.

Shaaaadap Mohammed! You Muslims behead non Muslims on live TV, murder priests and worshippers in Church, and take girls as sex slaves everywhere you find Christians. .

That sounds reasonable. One of the reasons I've always liked the Israelis is because over the years, they seem well-run, highly-tuned, and very effective, and expect a high level out of their people with little latitude for drifters.

I know they totally embarrass our TSA when it comes to screening passengers for travel.

I don't see why real Christians would be so upset about it. The display they tore down made a mockery of Christianity. It's a graven image.

The 2nd commandment:

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth

If Israel had done nothing, criticize Israel.
If Israel does something, criticize Israel.

Seems legit.
