The Bee Hive State
I am doing a school project on Jewish rituals and beliefs for death, dying and mourning. If anyone has links or good information please post it or send it to me in a PM.

Here are some ideas I am looking for

Burial beliefs, cremation or not and why

Euthanasia yes or no or sometimes when?

Who traditionally takes cares care of elderly or terminally ill at home?

Who makes funeral, memorial service, burial or cremation arrangements

What religious beliefs are associated with death dying and grieving in the jewish tradition?

Is there a Hell/Heaven belief, is there a purgatory or transition state

How long is the grief period

Life support system belief in keeping someone alive in it or not

I may add more.

Thanks

Thanks !

The project is for my Thanatology class

Thanatology

I took the class for a credit because I was allowed to as an elective and because I had 3 family members die this year and wanted to learn more about how others handle death & dying.

My assignment was to pick a religion or culture and do a report on their death & dying rituals/beliefs.

I had to pick a group I am not familiar with.

I am not religious and just decided to pick jewish culture.

Here is another great site:

On euthanasia at the same website. Do a "find" of the word euthanasia or scroll down to the paragraph starting, "It has already been mentioned that a person is supposed to struggle to remain alive and that euthanasia, for example, is forbidden."
