Jesus himself said that he was sent to the lost sheep of the house of Israel and to them alone.

So yes, he is. Jesus taught the only right way to understand the figurative language and hidden subjects of the Law that fulfills the promise of abundant blessings and eternal life here on earth for everyone who listens to that teaching from God and acts on it. Life is in the blood, in the doing. The problem back then was that Jewish messianic expectations were as irrational as Christian expectations for the second coming of Christ are now. They thought the end of the age of darkness was imminent, God was going to fart fiery angels out of the sky in a bloody war to defeat the Kittim, but Jesus, an unarmed teacher, said it was a long time off and was laughed at.

Josephus records that Jesus' followers believed He was the Christ, or Messiah. Both Pliny and Lucian indicate that Christians worshipped Jesus as God.

He said nation will rise against nation, etc., the temple would be destroyed, the exile and scattering of the Jewish people worldwide and their return, the ingathering, all would happen before the end which seemed ridiculous to those who believed that the end of the age of darkness was imminent and Israel was about to be victorious against the hated Roman rule.

He also said "this generation" would persist to see it all, meaning the generation of error, the traditions of men, which taught that the law was to be taken literally, now known as the Talmud.

As it has.

And when Jesus said that there were "some standing around who would not die before they saw the kingdom of God in power" it did not mean he was a failed prophet or crazy because even Nebuchadnezzar saw that the kingdom of God was always and will always be in power when his sanity was restored after living like a beast without enough sense to look up or get out of the rain
