Jets/Packers Negotiations

Allen has never been to a Super Bowl so he isn't in my top three. Rodger's age is the reason other teams are not interested.

The point is that if Allen were available would those teams give up more for him or Rodgers? The obvious answer is they would give up more for Allen seeing as how no one is willing to give up even a 1st round pick for Rodgers at this point.

Rodgers WAS a better QB than Allen is currently, maybe. But he's not currently as good or better than Allen. He's the 2nd best QB in the league and he couldnt get his team into the PO's in the NFC? The NFC?

Rodgers has never expressed interest in playing somewhere that is not championship ready, likely why those other teams never showed interest.
Rodgers doesn't get to decide. He doesn't have a no trade clause in his contract. The Jets aren't going to win the SB with or without Rodgers. Even Rodgers knows that. The Jets aren't making the SB with or without Rodgers. Even Rodgers knows that. They likely aren't winning their division. Teams arent interested in Rodgers because he's past his prime, and he might have a year maybe 2 of decent play in him. He's been trash in the PO's of late and isnt willing to put the work in.

The Jets could have pursued Lamar Jackson who is only 26 but they consider Rodgers much better.

LOL at you thinking the Jets are good enough to get to the Super Bowl.

The Jets probably don’t want to give up 2 first round picks to sign Lamar. Lamar is much less maintenance than Rodgers, and probably a better player at this point.

If the Jets had a competent front office they would have pursued Lamar instead of Rodgers but the Jets have a long history of sucking.

At no time did I say the Jets were good enough to make the Super Bowl? In fact I said they weren’t good enough to make the Super Bowl with or without Rodgers RIF

are you really just ignorant about how the process works? The Jets would’ve had to negotiate with Lamar a price he was willing to take they would then have to clear the cap space as if they were signing him. The ravens could then just match the offer sheet and the Jets would be left with nothing. It’s not just give the ravens two first round picks and you have Lamar. A lot of teams would have given up two first round draft picks to get Lamar the problem as all the other things they have to do, and then the prospect of not getting him anyway.

Now the Jets are being held hostage by the Packers and eventually will need to give Green Bay a better offer.

You keep holding onto that fantasy the longer this goes on the better position. The Jets are in it’s clear the Jets are not giving up this year‘s first round draft pick to the Packers.

The Packers have two QBs under contract and the Jets are stuck with Wilson. Giving up a first round pick for Rodgers makes the most sense otherwise the Jets are up shit creek without a paddle.

Yes that's the problem. They have 2 and they have to get rid of Rodgers for a multitude of reasons. We will see who's ultimately right. It seems for now at least the Jets are content to let the Packers stew in the fact that they are going to pay Rodgers 60 million dollars and play with one less roster spot than everyone else.

The fact is the Packers are in the catbird seat.

Nothing on ESPN about it. Where did this come from? I said at the beginning that the Jets might duck this up and give the Packers their 1st rd pick. The point being they shouldnt because 1 Rodgers isn’t worth a 1st round pick anymore and 2 the Packers have t get rid of him and the Jets were the only trade partner.

I just noticed the scenario you captured isn’t the Jets giving the Packers a 1rd pick it’s just trading 1sts which is completely different.

It is all just speculation.
