Zone1 Jesus did not intend for us to go by the Bible alone

NT means "NEW TESTAMENT" which is a bible
I know that. . was referring to you comment on the NT

Maybe you and others should read my posts before judging me and acting like I'm an idiot. Or maybe you have read some of them and just want to ACT like I am a moron even though you know I'm not.. so you can feel better about yourself.. childish, prideful

God knows. But pride is a big sin

Actually, the Bible says that Jesus taught the Torah.
Which is the first 5 books of the Old Testament.

Well, that was b4 the Holy Spirit was sent by Christ from Heaven and the Apostles were filled w/ the HS and that was the beginning of the Church.

Then Luther decided that Church wasn't good enough..

and so today we have more than 30,000.. some would say 60,000 different denominations, all claiming to be Christian churches.. when God only began ONE. God doesn't need more than one. Neither do humans

I'm tired of this Bible alone nonsense.

The Bible was put together by.. what? whom? The Catholic Church in the 4th century. Everyone these days goes on about Scripture (great) but forgets/abandons the Church that gave us scripture (the New T)
Jesus did not write a Biblical account of his teachings, and with one exception, neither did the Apostles who knew him. Matthew, Mark, Luke picked up their accounts from (presumably) listening to the Apostles who did have firsthand knowledge of Jesus. Jesus did found an assembly (Church) to go forth and teach all he had taught. Writing was not all that common in the first century, and most of Church teaching was oral and passed down faithfully (and carefully) by word-of-mouth. The written word wasn't assembled into Canon until three hundred years later. The Church then added the written word to the oral traditions. A little over a thousand years later, some Christians decided to brush aside the oral teachings, but also decided to keep some/most of those teachings that had later been put into written form.

John's words come to mind. He wrote that it simply wasn't possible to put all Jesus said and did into written form--the world probably couldn't contain them anyway. The Catholic and Orthodox Churches went about retaining all they could from oral teachings and traditions of these first/early Christians. This was, after all, following in the footsteps of the Church/assembly Christ founded--to go forth and speak his teachings to the ends of the earth.

If John saw that a lot of what Jesus said and did never made it into written form, it cannot be that surprising all the practices of early Christians didn't make it into writing either. So some of the later denominations lost count of all the early Church did, just as the early Church lost count of every single word and action of Jesus. Remember the multiplication of the loaves and fishes? If Jesus can multiply loaves and fishes, surely he can multiply the the words, acts, and customs that are retained so that all are filled despite of any lack or missing pieces.

Many so-called denominations are really ministries within the greater church. Most are in agreement doctrinally.

That's the way the Catholic Church looks at non-Catholic (alleged) churches. They are Christian communities, not actual Churches because there is only ONE established by Christ. And it didn't go underground any time in history.

Actually, what is happening today in the CC is far more disturbing than anything that happened in history.. But again, this was all set in motion by the archheretic Luther. Then in 1958 the Vatican was taken over by nonChristians.. and as stated b4, things there at the V are getting worse and worse by the day. So yeh, Jesus will likely return soon. He's probably just about fed up

incorrect- catholics think they have something to do to earn salvation.
Paul spoke of working out our own salvation with fear (awe) and trembling. Working out something is not the same as earning something. Working out how to read, draw, build, etc. is not the same as earning it.

OK, I knew most of this but thanks for posting it for others.

The only problem is, i didn't really get your meaning from the last sentence.. If you could explain? thanks

Until the Catholic and Orthodox Churches reunite, they should not call on other denominations to reunite with us.

And also, the reason, or one of them that we have to work out our salvation is that we are incredibly, just INCREDIBLY fallen creatures. Anyone who has tried to follow Christ for any length of time in a world where few people do that.. knows how hard this can be at times.

We have to work out salvation because we have to fight the flesh, the world and worst of all, that vile thing called Satan.. He knows all the tricks in the book, has been around far far longer than we humans have. And now that I bring him up, this is one reason we humans need a Church like the one Christ.. no, wait, what am I saying? Not LIKE the Church he founded, but THE Church he founded.. in order to know how to fight that .. vile creature

That is not so. The Protestant "churches" are OUTSIDE the Catholic Church, the one Christ founded. They do not belong OUTSIDE but inside.. All persons belong in the Church Christ founded

All persons belong in the Church Christ founded

Jesus was surrounded by five thousand people who had only five loaves and two fish to eat. The little he turned into plenty. I believe it is possible that even without every word and every tradition Jesus taught still at work among people, he can take the small amount retained and turn it into plenty.

I have great compassion for those who hold no belief in purgatory because of all they miss out on doing for those who have passed on. Some still need us and our prayers. We are in it together.

I hear what you are saying, but the Catholic and Orthodox started that first division even though Christ prayed we would remain one. We have no right to complain about further division when we have not healed that first one. If it is not important for Catholics and Orthodox to reunite, how can we complain when others don't see reunification as important either?

Jesus quoted widely from the OT and referenced others as well.
Yes, he did reference various O.T. verse's.
But the Bible says that Jesus taught the Law (Torah)
Which was his main ministry to educate the people.
