Watters' propaganda is working.
dam that sounds like your party .....And conservatives will continue to spread disinformation and lies because it has brought them political success.
Another way to say it is he spilled the beans.
The right-wing media machine is hitting a wall
Last week, Fox News host Jesse Watters offered a succinct and accurate explanation of how the right elevates stories.
“We are waging a 21st-century information warfare campaign against the left, and they are using tactics from the 1990s,” he said, mocking Democrats’ reliance on news conferences and traditional media stories. “What you’re seeing on the right is asymmetrical. It’s like grassroots guerrilla warfare. Someone says something on social media. Musk retweets it. [Joe] Rogan podcasts it. Fox broadcasts it. And by the time it reaches everybody, millions of people have seen it.”
So.........Watters' view isn't exactly in the mold of the famous newsman Edward R. Murrow. More in the mold of the famous propagandist Joseph Goebbels.
I'm going to take the liberty of changing Watters' quote to more accurately reflect what's happening. “We are waging a 21st-century disinformation warfare campaign against the left." He even explains the step by step methodology of how lies gain widespread adoption among consumers of RWM before they can be refuted. We know from psychological studies once a belief is adopted it is difficult to dislodge. Which explains why so many beliefs on the Right remain after being thoroughly debunked.
This, he insisted, reflected the right’s interest in “expressing information” in contrast to the left’s “suppressing information.”Well, he was right about the left lying.
This, he insisted, reflected the right’s interest in “expressing information” in contrast to the left’s “suppressing information.”
The important thing to remember is that what Watters is describing is unreliable or inaccurate information, claims that are compelling to the right.
What makes what the Right is spewing so compelling to its audience is the fact they are lies. It's infotainment.
Goebbels' quote was in recognition of what the Nazis were knowingly spewing were lies. Watters knows it too. But he sees his employment as taking precedence over the nation.May I offer a slightly different take on Joseph Goebbels?

That's a bumper sticker slogan reinforced by overly simplistic disinformation.
I have my own filter for information from both sides. I watch more liberal media than conservative, so I can keep an eye on them. Talk about entertainment. This, he insisted, reflected the right’s interest in “expressing information” in contrast to the left’s “suppressing information.”
