Other societies had their versions of morals and rules where do you think the Jews copied them from? And according to da jew the sabbath is Friday night till Saturday night. If yer doin' on Sunday yer way off...When you can get them to stick with the rules and never break them then we can talk about having a society of morals. And with the Ten Commandments on public display those righteous in piety can't seem to follow the rules either. The Bible is the reason for war, pestilence, famine, genocide incest to exist because it recognizes it, yet when the law states that you may not kill an intruder during the day and yet people in the US do it that are Christian do you think God punishes them? Does Christ punish them or his Dad or his manifestation of a spirit eat their souls or still their eyesight capabilities? Or do they melt like in Indiana Jones?3. While all recognize primogeniture in the world history, it is defined thus:
Primogeniture:
the state of being the firstborn child.
the right of succession belonging to the firstborn child, especially the feudal rule by which the whole real estate of an intestate passed to the eldest son.
(Google)
Primogeniture ensured that the eldest son in a family inherited the largest portion of his father's property upon the father's death. The practice of entail, guaranteeing that a landed estate remain in the hands of only one male heir, was frequently practiced in conjunction with primogeniture.
Georgia constitution abolishes primogeniture and entail ...
Other siblings get a stipend, an allowance, or, if the family is not wealthy enough for that event, must go out an make his or her way in the world.
Effectively, it produces and maintains an aristocracy.
It is no exaggeration to claim that the Bible is the reason for the success of Western Civilization. Whether allegory or actual history, the story of Esau and Jacob, wherein the younger son, who advances the ethical monotheism gets the inheritance, provided the model for Jeffersonās denying primogeniture.
The bible isn't the reason for wars, pestilence, genocide, etc. Our sin nature is the reason for the aforementioned. Thats all.
Stupidity never invalidates rules.. Nothing in the Founding or 10 Commandments that isn't intuitive and suitable for governing and morality.. Except maybe in your alternative universe..
Without the Bible and religion -- where do ya think the DISCIPLINE for having morals will come from? Would you get up early on Sunday and dress like a respectful human and MAKE yourself listen to 2 hours about "doing good"???
Hush up son.. We all know how Hollywood became the cesspool that it is today..
Thats the old law/old testament. That is no more.
Actually, I have a good pal who is a Seventh Day Adventist, and she celebrates the sabbath on Saturday.
And this, from NOQ:
āWhy I take the sabbath off even though Iām not a 7th Day Adventist or Hebrew Roots guy
Iām just a Bible-believing Christian. I donāt adhere to any particular denomination. I donāt go to a traditional church. My wife and I do Bible study, listen to a wide variety of sermons and Bible teachers, and we keep the sabbath. But weāre not Seventh Day Adventists nor part of the Hebrew Roots movement. Both have some good teachings. Both have some that we consider to be heretical.
Weāre just Christians, and as such we believe in the validity of the whole Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Part of this belief centers on a truth that the Ten Commandments are eternal, including the commandment regarding the sabbath day. From the Book of Exodus:
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
This is clear. It is absolutely unambiguous. There is no room for interpretation, no need for extensive exegesis."
Why I take the sabbath off even though Iām not a 7th Day Adventist or Hebrew Roots guy
There are a number of variations, but one religion....the Judeo-Christian.
Yeah, it really doesn't matter what day it is.
