The UAE Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba, who was already in talks with the White House about the matter since March 2019, simultaneously offered to turn it into reality. Following a month of indirect talks and negotiations over the wording, the administration brought the two sides to agree on suspending annexation for at least three years in favor of formal relations between the UAE and Israel, Ravid writes.

At one point, Dermer tried to tweak the deal, saying Netanyahu is insisting on getting at least three Arab countries to agree to normalize relations. “Tell Ron that one country is all he’s getting, and if he doesn’t want it, let him go f**k himself,” Kushner told Berkowitz, according to Ravid.

“The UAE had their own interest to move ahead with normalization with Israel to prevent a crisis in the region and preserve a two-state solution,” Ravid said. “But they brought the ladder that allowed both the White House and Netanyahu to climb down from the tree.”

The day before the announcement was to take place, Netanyahu tried backing out of the deal, Ravid writes. But the Americans made it certain the train had left the station.

The book also sheds a light on the U.S. assassination of Qassem Soleimani, the head of Iran’s Quds Force and one of the most influential figures in the Middle East, who was killed on January 3, 2020 in an airstrike at Baghdad’s international airport.

The Soleimani story is one I would really like to hear more about, especially on the counter strike by Iran and the politics that followed.

I believe Iran demonstrated capabilities that can change the course of history.

I'd sort of miss him if the MSM hadn't somehow pretended they needed to take him seriously. The fact that Trump's team so fucked up getting covid testing ramped up early, by even cancelling a test that worked to produce a test that DIDN't, and putting Jared in charge.

And Trumpetters still gripe about "Trump won." No he didn't. People didn't like the progs saying "defund the police" and riots weren't cool, even when cops were bad ... but when we have the highest death total and Trump's on TV touting sunlight bleach and "it's just gonna go away" ..... It was as if GOD stepped in and gave us a plague to stop the madness .... LOL

And the plague continues because Trumpeteeres don't get vaccinated, and mainly it is still killing them ... and old and sick people.

And oddly and very sadly ironically it would actually be GOOD for the country's economic and social woes if people would just go back to work.

But probably what is going to happen is the dems will fail to extend child tax credits, fail to do anything meaningful for student loans, fail to put money back into Obamacare, and the actual earning power of workers will decline.

Well there's absolutely no good news for Biden and the dems.

Aside from the G-7 telling Putin that W, Obama and Trump may have killed Nato, but it's still not ok for the Russian Empire to reacquired Ukraine and the Baltics to go along with Belarus. Putin effecitely kept Georgia and (strangely) Molova in it's sphere but it appears the West may be holding. It's still up to Ukraine to become an effective democratic republic though.
