It is a puzzler to me why...and why so often.....you throw your credibility, your gravitas, out the window.
You seemingly care nothing about doing homework, about vetting your assertions, about doing a 'fact-check'.
In this case, you seemingly don't know....or don't want to know.....that each chamber has its' own sergeant who reports to the leader of that chamber. In this case the House sergeant reported to Pelosi, the Senate to McConnell.
You don't have to answer this, but --- preparation and homework has been a challenge for you. No?

There is speculation that if.....if......Trump had alerted the authorities that he would be sending his mob to the Capitol they could have been more aware and made more complete preparation.
For one thing, simply by applying for a permit to march would have given a heads-up that likely would have led to more uniformed LEO's present...from the Capitol force, from the DC force, from whatever auxiliary forces were available, including the National Guard. Was he, did he, for reasons of his own wish to hide the fact of a march before it became fact? Was it subterfuge?
After all, Trump had been planning this march for at least two weeks prior to January 6th. Yet, for some reason, didn't give a heads-up to -- the Mayor, the House Speaker, the Senate President, the respective Sergeant-at-Arms, or even his own Secret Service that he would order the march on the Capitol. What's up with that?
