Polk was the first “dark horse” candidate, he was firmly committed to “Manifest Destiny.”

Hillary was quoted as saying she wanted open borders....and tried to claim she meant for electrical grid.

4. Polk had four goals, and they were all accomplished.
The tariff was reduced.
The federal treasury was reestablished.
A treaty was signed with Mexico, giving the U.S.: California, New Mexico and most of present-day Nevada, Arizona, Utah and Colorado.
The Oregon boundary was set at the 49th parallel after a long controversy.
5. Polk was the first 'dark horse candidtate'....never expected to be the candidate, and certainly not the President.
So....in addition to recognizing the importance of borders, another aspect he shares with Donald Trump.
