I've solved the issue on charging EVs while in route.

Hybrid cars do this charging on the go no battery exchange is needed no charging stations needed.

Far cheaper and practical to own than the always problematic all electric car.

I like the hybrid car idea and the forward thinking behind it, so why haven't we moved into a better position on that, and especially when it comes to capitalizing on technology that makes sense(?), otherwise instead of us going round and round and round we go, yet where she stops (on a great idea that sticks or the best idea that work's), heck nobody seems to want to stake their claim with a solid plan... 😁

Oil is great, but to boldly explore all options without the disruption of our system when doing so, and for a more futuristic experience, then we must expand wisely and openly towards future travel options that make sense to the people who will require such futuristic option's after we have all since long gone from this generation.

The sky is the limit, so no need to stop short if we don't have too.

The Saudi's are using their wealth to boldly explore their future, but for some reason here, we are always poor mouthing and crying about being broke with no hope. To much infighting in America, and to much of this nation bowing down to pressures, wrong headed ideologies or made up cultures that are just stupid.

My brother has owned a Toyota Prius since the late 1990's very happy with it doesn't care about all electric cars at all.

I have been in his first two cars they ride fine the heater works without trouble and does get around 50 mpg on the highway.

We need to get in the game here in the U.S.... We need to start innovating again, otherwise instead of thinking that everything is about profits and figuring out how to rip the American people off.

Easily swapped is easily stolen.
Point accepted, but we have enough good people in many area's of the Country "NOT" to let it stop progress towards MAGA.

A great idea. Electric car people could prepay for batteries. Finance it into the car loan

what is the dollar amount the hours of driving desrtoy a battery, batteries are not gas cans that you fill with up fuel

and how many people want a high hour, high usage about to catch on fire battery in their brand new luxury car

OK, so one of the major undesirable parts of owning an EV is having to charge it while in route right ??

What about this folks - Instead of having charging stations where one has to hook up a charger to the EV, and then charge it for a period of time before getting under way again, then I have to ask this question - Why was it done or designed in this way to begin with ?

Why couldn't charging stations be set up like drive through car washes ?

Hear me out !

You pull into the station, and you drive up to a money machine that one puts an exchange rate into the machine for a quick change purchase, and this one a driver does in order to drive out the other side ready to roll again in just a matter of time that is faster or equivalent to a fuel up in a gasoline vehicle.

The EV needs to be designed with the battery below the vehicle with a quick change set up that allows the battery to be dropped and replaced with a fully charged one that is quickly installed with a quick change robotic set up. All EVs should be built to be compatible with the change out stations in this way.

The drained battery is then placed on a charger that will recharge the battery to be placed back in the que for the next recharge entry.

Will it work ?

What about it Elon ?
My solution is don't buy one.

Sarcasm noted.. lol

If I were an EV enthusiasts, then of course I'd be wanting to explore all option's or idea's that would be practical, efficient, and sensible in regards to the EV idea.. I would do so with all other EV enthusiasts that would want to see the concept make it, and make it big.

The biggest thing to overcome is the inconvenience of charging the thing. No one wants to stop and charge for an hour their EV.

Now if our government were to initiate incentives, and have a clear idea upon how to charge up the private sector to create a universal charging infrastructure to be set up and used in a uniformed way, then the concept might be one that can compete freely against our more traditional norms of fueling our transportation.

People want to fuel quickly and go.

People also want to charge quickly and go.

The idea of quick change batteries being done in a universal way would be the future to behold.

Sure kid. show us some modern EV's with multiple batteries.
Commercial and public transport EVs might have multiple battery packs in various locations. Passenger EVs generally have a single, main battery pack.

No the biggest thing to overcome is the extreme price and inefficiency. That must be done with private funds not the one trillion dollars so far spent on battery p0ln9n

Which was my point.

Agree... The private sector should be leading the charge and creating the infrastructure, and not the federal government. The government might could help with the modernizing of it's existing infrastructure in order to accommodate the added new EV concept to the transportation culture in this country.

Oil is dirty, but battery production is also an extremely hazardous thing.

Weighing out the good, the bad, and the ugly has always been a staple of modern day society. May the best idea win.

No, our grid is fine. Electric cars are proven failure.

The government has no business re-making our infrastructure to accomadate what does not work

A 1,000 pound battery is a little hard to put into a vending machine.

I pointed that out years ago. Engineering-wise, a more practical way for the consumer would be to just swap out his drained battery for a fresh one all charged up! Except, I had the battery sliding out the lower side of the car rather than dropping out the bottom. The new battery would literally slide out on an extendable tray then click back into place.

Each battery is evaluated for condition and prorated to the users.

The problem is that this adds to the weight and cost of the vehicles. The cheap way is the bullshit way of building them in integrally and re-charging them at a fixed station.
