It’s TACO Time For Greenland After Trump Flops At Davos

Ray Dalio predicted the demise of the US as the dominant world economic power in his book from a few years ago. Dear Leader is hastening the demise.
They have been predicting that shit since I was in high school.

Energy production matches demand.

Demand is down because Europe invested in energy efficiency, which seems like a good thing to the adults in the room.
I’m sure the Brits would welcome and know what to do with more and cheaper electricity than they have now under the new green deal

So they have some windmills. You said demand for coal/oil is down.

You lied.

Not at all

Yes the Euros are pissed at trump at the moment

And some lib leaders like Carney are overreacting to the point of absurbity

But in the end Trump is right and they will come around

Though maybe not Carney
And there's another truth: if great powers abandon even the pretense of rules and values for the unhindered pursuit of their power and interests, the gains from "transactionalism" will become harder to replicate. Hegemons cannot continually monetize their relationships.

That one was aimed squarely at Dotard and landed like a right cross.

Are you so ******* stupid that you can't differentiate oil demand and electricity demand?
Yes I can. And unlike you I can read.

In November 2024, oil demand in the OECD European countries grew by 147 thousand barrels per day (tb/d) year-over-year (y-o-y).

Isn't it about time someone has told the rest of the world "enough"?
That absurd view of things sees the US as having been taken advantage of when it fact it has arguably been the biggest beneficiary of the world order it helped create.

"OIL DEMAND".....Right there in the link title, Stupid. :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg:

  • Gasoline
    :
    November: Increased by 151 tb/d y-o-y
    October: Growth of 154 tb/d y-o-y
  • Jet/Kerosene:
    November: Expanded by 113 tb/d y-o-y
    October: 89 tb/d y-o-y
According to the OPEC monthly report, this growth in jet/kerosene demand is supported by IATA’s Air Passenger Monthly Analysis for November 2024, which showed a 9.4% increase in international passenger traffic y-o-y.
  • Petrochemical Feedstocks:
    • Naphtha: Increased by 145 tb/d y-o-y (compared to 59 tb/d in October).
    • LPG: Grew by 62 tb/d y-o-y (up from 36 tb/d in October).
  • Residual Fuels:
    November: Increased by 19 tb/d y-o-y (compared to 102 tb/d in October).

Hegemons cannot continually monetize their relationships.

You mean like when the Germans attempt to use Deutsche Bank holdings in the United States as leverage towards negotiating our relationship?

Ooops, they really aren't a Hegemon and pretending they are doesn't work any better. :auiqs.jpg:

Am I surprised a trumple would bury his head in the sand over the real world implications of what will happen should Europe pull back from an unreliable trading partner and ally? No.

My head is not buried in the sand, I am just in touch with reality. The reality is the US consumer is far to powerful for them to ignore. The nominal GDP of all 27 countries that make up the EU is 20 trillion as compared to the US' 30.5 trillion. That is 1.5 times bigger. This is just the economics of it. Militarily, they can't compete either. The only real advantage they would have over the US would be manpower because the EU is very densely populated vs the US.

It is almost as if you lefties are ignorant of America's power and influence in the world.
