Offshoring has been going on since the beginning of the industrial revolution. The United States grew in its early years partly because of vast inflows of capital from Europe. The ills American workers are suffering isn't because of offshoring, it's because of mass immigration of cheap foreign labor, and also because of government interference in the economy.
