It's About Time

Here's hoping to see long lines of refugees heading for Egypt and Jordan in the news next week. The world can then watch how grandly their fellows treat refugees.

Egypt could see 1 million Gaza refugees by the end of summer. Abbas will offer lip service but will not risk losing the WB to save Gaza.
The time, it seems, has come and Bibi can see it as clearly as you and I.

Yes. They've overplayed the pity party angle. People are tired of the animals and are quickly losing interest in their faux 'victim-Hood' ploys.

Let us pray Israel will finally massacre enough Palestinian terrorists in Gaza to effectively communicate with them that the rocket missile attacks will not be tolerated. And afterwards Israel should tell Hamas that if a single rocket missile is again fired into Israel --- You ain't seen nothing yet. LET THERE BE PEACE ALREADY!

toastman, et al,

We are not talking about a "Katusha" type rocket. We are addressing the use of the M-302; 302-mm (R-160 Abdel Aziz al-Rantisi Missile or Kaibar-1), range of 100 miles (160 km); warheads of up to 145 kilograms. These are 302 mm unguided, rail-launched surface-to-surface rockets with a fixed fin configuration. These are the kind that the IDF seized onboard the Panamanian-flagged merchant ship Klos-C in the Red Sea, in March of this year.

et al,

I'm not sure which side ignited the current conflict; who poked whom first. But with the announced targeting of the Negev Nuclear Research Center [NNRC (AKA: NRCN)] just 13 or so kilometers to the south-east of the city of Dimona, we can see that the conditions are being set for the conflict to rapidly spiral out of control.

If the Palestinians were to hit the active reactor in the NNRC, and trigger a 1986 Chernobyl Event like event, it could be catastrophic; principally for the Palestinians (not that HAMAS would care). The prevailing winds in that region are to the WNW at 10 to 15 mph; which would push any radioactive plume on a line right into the Gaza Strip between the cities of Khan Yunes and Nuseirat. Yes, such a plume might catch the southern portion of Beersheba and most probably hit Ein HaBesor as it spreads out, but its going to make a wide swath through the Gaza Strip.

The Chernobyl Event generated a cloud that eventually covered two-thirds of Europe. If HAMAS were to be responsible for such an event, both HAMAS and the Palestinian cause would be lost. No one in Europe would support them.

To get an idea of what such an event would be like, see the short video on the Path and extension of the radioactive cloud generated by the Chernobyl even.

HAMAS is playing with fire. Such a cloud can circle back around and cover the entire Arab League.

What do you think the Arab League nations are going to do to HAMAS if they are subject to such a fallout event?

Most Respectfully,

I highly doubt that Katusha rockets/mortars would do much damage, as the reactor is deep underground.
I'm no weapons expert, but I would imagine that t would take much more powerful missiles in order to penetrate the surface of the Dimona reactor.

BTW, aren't bunker buster bombs the most desirable bomb for attacking underground reactors?

EXCERPT: Israelis to shut 'vulnerable' nuclear plant in IranÂ’s sights said:
The Haaretz newspaper quoted officials last week as saying they had concluded that the reactor was no longer impenetrable in the event of war. Deactivating the reactor in southern Israel would minimise the dangers of nuclear fallout in the area “should it be targeted by missiles from as far away as Iran”.

EXCERPT: The War on Israel Is Being Waged by a Hamas-Syria-Iran Troika said:
Hamas launched a long-range Syrian-made M320 rocket at Israel on Tuesday.

Hamas has rained over 200 rockets into Israel and targeted the countryÂ’s nuclear reactor in Dimona.

Who says the NNRC is underground?

The Dimona Plutonium Nuclear Reactor has its' reactor core in a silver dome structure; approximately 60 feet tall.

But it is not necessary to hit the core to cause a catastrophic event. All that needs to be done is to disable the safety systems or cooling system. "If terrorist groups could sufficiently damage safety systems to cause a core meltdown at a nuclear power plant, and/or sufficiently damage spent fuel pools, such an attack could lead to a widespread radioactive contamination." And that is just one vulnerability.

Just how simple minded can Palestinians be??? You don't want Israel to massacre you & blow up your buildings? Then stop firing rocket missiles into Israel to kill Israeli's.

How fascist is the mentality that equates Hamas = Gaza??

Pretty simplistic collective punishment mentality.

So you prove you cant do simple maths as well. Hamas took control of gaza when they won the P.A. elections. They expelled or killed all the fatah members and supporters in short order and imposed their version of islam on the strip. So what kind of mentality sees hamas as being anything but gaza apart from an ISLAMONAZI TERRORIST SCUM one

It is time we rid these pages of the nonsense, the myth, the lie that the muslim's fight with US is because of our support for israel.

Or our intervention in other countries' affairs.
Dream on if you like that fool's paradise, but i believe those who decide U.S. foreign policy recognize that without our support for Israel, radical Islam would lose steam. And certainly anti-American sentiment world wide would lose its raison d'etre. Muslims were Muslims for 1300 years, but only recently turned radical AND anti-American.
Osama bin Laden, himself, said it was all due to religion.

And they would like us to believe their conflict with the Israelis is all due to the supposed land encroachment by the Jews.

Rhetoric is one thing, but those folks are clear headed and have told us what is important to them. #1 Israel. #2 Israel. #3 Israel. #4 Israel. #5 Everything else.
Yet, how do they explain the Arab's anti-Jewish bigotry, in the area referred to as Palestine, before 1948?
Easy. There wasn't any to speak of.

So why were the arab muslims so hateful to the Americans before 1983, which is when they first started giving them aid ?

Read the Koran and hadiths and you will see that as far back as 635 C.E. the muslims showed anti Jewish bigotry when the tribe in medina refused to bow down and worship Mohamed as god.

So easy to prove your every word wrong by simply showing the words in the Koran and the historical truth. Like the Ottoman archives that show no arab muslims living in Palestine prior to 1878 when the jews made the land fertile. Or that arab muslim ownership of Palestine pre 1948 was less than 1%, making the Jews the majority land owners.

When they are packed with illegal chemical/biological agents yes. So the Palestinians don't want to play by the rules so be treated as the terrorist scum they are. But how about being honest and show just what a Palestinian grad missile can do

Or a katyusha

Hamas has syrian M302 rockets. The reactor might not be hit but rockets might still cause disruption and damage to cooling system or some other damage.

It is regretable that Palestinians will be Palestinians thus causing Israel to have to retaliate to kill their terrorists & demolish the land they & their families occupy.

Palestinians and Hamas want to play the terror game "let's throw rockets at Israel over and over and over"?

ok lets play then.

Hamas promised they could prevent more rocket attacks if Israel stop. The hamas spokesman said he did not know who was responsible, except it was no hamas, but could prevent more attacks if Israel stopped any response in gaza.
I find al jazeera america a good coverage of each side and hard questioning of interviews. Major news coverage is over quiet on events of the middle east.

So where is Kerry now? I'm guessing he's suddenly got other things to do and won't be parachuting into Gaza, posing for photo ops, and calling for Hamas to cease fire.

run that one past me again..... the guy said Hamas is not responsible for the
fact that bombs are emerging from gaza and landing in israel---
and Hamas does not know who is doing it----BUT HAMAS IS CAPABLE
OF STOPPING IT......but if it just happens to continue----Hamas is not
responsible....... in law----you can be convicted of negligent manslaughter--
if you do not stop a killing that you are capable of stopping...... If you were

Hamas Vows to Continue Rocket Fire, Bloodshed

'There is no intention of calm,' Hamas spokesperson says, 'Israel will have to put Iron Dome on every Israeli home.'

Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum vowed his terror organization will continue firing rockets on Israel Tuesday, dismissing claims of de-escalation.

"Today there is no intention of relaxation and calm," Barhoum stated. "Palestinian blood has been spilled."

"There is no place for talking about peace with the Israeli occupation," he added. "If they want to protect their entity from Hamas's missiles, they will have to put an Iron Dome [missile defense system - ed.] on every home in Israel."

"The person who determines the price of conflict with Israel is Hamas, who is doing so with its capabilities and arsenal," he added.

Hamas Rockets Target IsraelÂ’s Dimona Nuclear Research Facility

“A few minutes ago, Palestinian terrorists in Gaza fired 3 rockets at Dimona. 2 fell in open areas; Iron Dome intercepted the other,” the Israeli army said in a Tweet shortly before 20:00 IST.‏

There are no reports of injury or damage in the first-ever strike of its kind at the remote desert facility 72 km (44 miles) away from the coastal enclave.

Hamas officials told news media that they were aiming to hit the core structure.

Clearly, something is amiss with the statement: "The hamas spokesman said he did not know who was responsible, except it was no hamas, but could prevent more attacks if Israel stopped any response in gaza."
